Here’s a fun twist on spiced apple cider if you have a Trader Joe’s grocery store and can get your hands on these yummy ingredients! I served it on Halloween and it made the whole kitchen small delicious.
-Apple cider, 2 large bottles (2 Quarts each) (I used TJ’s honey crisp style but you can use any brand- just make sure it’s not already spiced)
-Chai Spice Concentrate, 1 whole (16 oz) container (this is in the coffee/tea section of Trader Joe’s and is intended for making chai tea drinks*)
-Sweetener, optional (I used some sugar and just added to my preferred taste but maple syrup or honey would work too)
-Garnish: sliced apples (seeds removed), cinnamon sticks, cloves, nutmeg and or any other whole fall spices you love
Add all these ingredients to large Dutch oven (or slow cooker) and simmer on the stove. Stir occasionally. Serve warm but not scalding hot. Enjoy!
*chai concentrate has some black tea and may not be great for caffeine sensitive people – in this case just buy spiced apple cider and warm with all the fun garnishes listed here!
