Please tell me you watch Parenthood. It is my favorite show on TV.
It may be my favorite show ever…or at least it’s in the top 5.
I love it because it’s real, raw, emotional, funny and poetic. I love the characters and all the layers that the writers have created between them. It portrays family life in its truest state. You won’t find canned laughter or exaggerated melodramas or fake story lines with perfect endings.
Parenthood shows that family life is full of conflict and yet it’s wonderful all at once. Even when people grow up their relationships with their parents and siblings can be tough {I know this from my own observations and my family life}. And parenting young kids is hard. It’s not some easy fairytale or subject for constant mockery {often found on other TV shows}. It is complicated, funny & beautifully messy! And that is how it’s portrayed on this show.
I’m sad that NBC had decided this is the last season but I’m soaking it up.
Are you as enthralled with this show as I am? What do you love about it?
