In the spirit of full disclosure I must confess that Summer is not my favorite season. I love so many things about it {s’mores, traveling, the county fair, fresh corn & tomatoes, late nights, no school, Disneyland, family time, BBQ’s, summer fruit, 4th of July, family reunions, beach days, bubbles, cold desserts} but I also despise a few of its attributes.
First of all I’m a total wimp about weather. I want the temperature somewhere between 65 and 85 degrees year round…yeah right…right? Most people remedy this with swimming, but as far as water fun goes I like it…but I don’t LOVE it. And of course when it’s hot most people wear shorts, shorts. Who invented shorts? I really don’t like wearing shorts! Okay enough about all that.
We had a fun Memorial Day weekend ushering in summer and this last weekend we enjoyed having company and swimming in my mom’s spa {more on that soon}. Despite the heat wave I do honestly like so many things about the new season upon us.
Thank the Lord for air conditioning, skirts and ice cream. I’m looking forward to all those things and many more {including out sweet baby boy’s arrival} this summer!
