This punch is amazing. We warm it in a slow cooker or on the stove. It’s basically 1 part pineapple juice to 1 part cranberry juice. Because we love it so much I just buy one big container of each drink and add a whole box of hot tamale candies- but you can adjust it up or down based on your needs. Sometimes stores have a cran-pinapple juice that would be fine for this too.
Ingredients:
-4 cups pineapple juice (or whole container as long as it’s equal parts to the cranberry juice)
-4 cups cranberry juice
-1/3 cup hot tamale candy (or red hots) (or use the whole box of hot tamale candies)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients into crock-pot or stove top pot* (see note below for cold version). Cover and warm on high two hours or low for four hours /or on the stove at medium heat until it is warm and the candies are mostly melted. The candies will mostly melt, but there may be little clear capsule looking candies (if using hot tamales) left over at the bottom. This recipe typically serves 6 people.
One more note: after it has all been warmed up and combined and enjoyed don’t throw it out. If you just happen to have any left over be sure to store it in the fridge for about a week or two and enjoy again. My kids sometimes prefer it cold* instead of warm. Enjoy!
*Cold Version: For a punch you can omit the candies and just add the juices, some Gingerale and ice (or vanilla ice cream) to a punch bowl. Play around with the best combo and garnish with orange slices/cranberries/cinnamon sticks-whatever you have that will look pretty. Serve up right away for best results.
