Here is our silly string baby gender reveal!
Blue Silly String = BOY
Pink Silly String = GIRL
Well today we finally revealed to the kids what their new siblings gender will be. This is a big deal to us. We did not find out what gender we were having with Paige or Grant. They were both delightful little surprises in the hospital, upon their arrivals into the world. We loved not finding out. Hearing Aaron tell me “It’s a girl” in the hospital and then holding Paige in my arms a moment later was one of the greatest moments of my life! And my sweet Grant was 10 days early, a very quick deliver and another shock as I was sure he was a girl…hearing the words “It’s a boy” after he quickly arrived on the scene was a wonderful gift that I will always cherish forever. I know people think we are crazy but we loved it. This time around I wanted to have the other experience of finding out. I wanted to nest and prepare and get rid of things we didn’t need. So Aaron and I went to the ultrasound yesterday and sat in a tiny little room. We looked at the confusing black and white image of our baby for what seemed like ages and sat stunned as the ultra sound tech finally said: “It’s a boy”
Oh boy. I was actually shocked. Excited, of course. But shocked. We both thought it was going to be a girl. My first thought was I’m not sure I know how to be a “boy mom” to two boys! I love having a girl and want her to have a sister. What will I do with two boys?
But oh how wonderful for Grant to have a brother…and I know Paige will be a great “little mommy” to any child we bring into our family. Having a boy has been a complete JOY {as they say} so I’m sure we will be just fine and will love it!
I had hoped to do a gender-reveal party since finding out is such a big deal to us…but there just wasn’t a good time for it to come together in the next few weeks. So instead I decided to go to a park and have the kids spray silly string at each other {if it came out pink it would be a girl and if it came out blue it would be a boy}. We are a silly family and when reading through ideas on Pinterest this seemed the best fit for us. So Aaron was a good sport and went along for the ride. My sister, Mom and brother even came to the park to watch. It ended up being quick, fun and easy.
How fun! We are so excited for you and your family and I know this little man will be the perfect addition to your family. I was the oldest sister with two younger brothers and it worked out pretty well for our family. Tell Paige there are a lot of good things about being the only girl in the family. 🙂
awesome!!!!!
What fun! Thanks for sharing this joy with all of us. Love you guys!
So excited for your family. Laura I can totally relate when we had our third and found out he was also going to be a boy because I was so freaked out by the idea of two boys in the house. It’s been so awesome to see how our three beautiful babies have formed their own relationships and friendships and it’s just such a gift. Prayers and blessings to you through the rest of your pregnancy and delivery of this precious life.
Awwww. I had no idea you were having another! Congrats on another little fireman. 😉
